Charging a Dacia Spring

Figures taken from the Electric 65 (2024-2025) version

The Dacia Spring carries 25 kWh usable for 225 km WLTP. On a rapid charger it accepts up to 34 kW and goes from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes. The breakdown by station power is below.

Charging time on a rapid charger

The Dacia Spring tops out at 34 kW on DC. Below that figure the station is the limit and the session runs at roughly constant power. Above it, the car charging curve takes over and the published 38 minutes stop improving.

Station power10 to 80%Km added in 10 min

100 kW38 minlimited by the car41 km
150 kW38 minlimited by the car41 km
300 kW38 minlimited by the car41 km

Past 34 kW a more powerful station no longer shortens the stop. Cold weather, an already warm battery or a high state of charge all stretch these times in real use.

Charging time on a slow charger

On AC the on-board charger sets the limit. The one in the Dacia Spring accepts 6.6 kW, whatever station is plugged in behind it.

Which connectors

The Dacia Spring uses a Type 2 inlet for AC, at home and on a slow public charger, and a CCS inlet for DC rapid charging. Those are the two European standards, so no adapter is needed anywhere on the public network.

What a charge costs

A full charge of the Dacia Spring draws about 25 kWh from the grid, conversion losses included, and a 10 to 80 percent rapid charge about 19.4 kWh. What you pay then depends entirely on the tariff.

PriceFull charge10 to 80%Per 100 km
€0.20 / kWh€5.00€3.88€2.22
€0.40 / kWh€10.00€7.76€4.44
€0.59 / kWh€14.75€11.45€6.55

These three price levels are calculation assumptions, not any one country tariff: they bracket what a driver meets between home charging and a rapid charger. Real prices vary widely by country, network and contract. See the full cost breakdown

CCS is the European rapid standard, so every rapid charger on the map will work.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to rapid charge a Dacia Spring?

Allow 38 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent on a station delivering at least 34 kW. On a less powerful station the time rises proportionally. Above it, the time no longer drops.

How long does it take to charge a Dacia Spring at home?

On a 7.4 kW home charger, allow around 3.8 hours for a 10 to 100 percent charge, the car drawing 6.6 kW in that case. One night is therefore more than enough.

Do you need an adapter to charge a Dacia Spring in Europe?

No. The Dacia Spring uses Type 2 and CCS, the European standards. It plugs straight into the public network in France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Switzerland.

How these times are worked out

The 10 to 80 percent time on a station at least as powerful as the car is the manufacturer figure. For less powerful stations the time is computed from the energy to transfer and the station power, with 10 percent conversion losses. AC times follow the same method over a 10 to 100 percent charge. These are reliable orders of magnitude in mild conditions, not measurements.
