ma-borne-electrique.com ("we" or "the website"), a charging station locator and blog dedicated to electric cars, takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The controller for the personal data collected on this website is the publisher of ma-borne-electrique.com, who acts on a non-commercial basis.

Contact: via our contact form, or by email at contact@ma-borne-electrique.com.

2. Data collected

We collect the following personal data, depending on how you interact with our website:

a) Contact form

The contact form opens your own email client directly, with a pre-filled message (your name, email address, and message) addressed to contact@ma-borne-electrique.com. This information does not pass through our servers and is not stored by the website: it is sent directly from your own mailbox.

Legal basis: your explicit consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a) and our legitimate interest in responding to your requests (GDPR art. 6.1.f).

b) Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure website traffic (pages visited, session duration, visitor origin). This service is only activated after your explicit consent, given via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Your IP address is anonymized before processing and no personally identifiable data is shared with Google.

Legal basis: your explicit consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a).

3. Purposes of processing

Your data is used to:

  • Respond to your contact requests;
  • Improve our content and the reliability of the information shown, through anonymized statistics;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

4. Retention period

  • Email correspondence: kept for 3 years from the last contact, unless you object.
  • Cookie consent preference: kept for 12 months in your browser.
  • Analytics data: kept for 13 months maximum.

5. Data recipients

Your personal data is never sold to third parties. It may be shared with our technical service providers (our host, Hostinger, and, if you have given your consent, Google Analytics for traffic measurement) strictly for the performance of their services, which are bound by confidentiality obligations. Where data is transferred outside the European Union (e.g. Google, a US company), appropriate safeguards are in place (European Commission standard contractual clauses).

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (GDPR art. 15): obtain confirmation that your data is processed and request a copy.
  • Right to rectification (GDPR art. 16): have inaccurate data about you corrected.
  • Right to erasure (GDPR art. 17): request deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligations.
  • Right to restriction (GDPR art. 18): request the temporary suspension of processing.
  • Right to object (GDPR art. 21): object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
  • Right to data portability (GDPR art. 20): receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time for processing based on it.

To exercise these rights, contact us via our contact form or by email at contact@ma-borne-electrique.com.

You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in France, the CNIL, 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07) if you believe your rights are not being respected.

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure. Our website uses HTTPS to secure data exchanges.
